Who's Who
Steven C. Anderson (Director) is the Artistic Director of the Phoenix Theatre for Children. He has created plays for and with Central Ohio children for the past thirty years. His directing credits include Children of a Lesser God, Greater Tuna, and Assassins (Players Theatre Columbus), Love! Valour! Compassion!, and The Taste of Sunrise (CATCO), and Hair and Candide (The Ohio State University). Steven recently directed bilingual (ASL and spoken English) productions of The Secret Garden (co-produced with CAPA, Phoenix Theatre for Children and Opera Columbus) and The Miracle Worker.
Tony Auseon (Puppet Designer) has enjoyed working with the Phoenix several times over that past few seasons. He designed puppets for Bunraku Rapunzel, Hansel & Gretel, and most recently performed in last season's Huck Finn's American Song. Thanks to his family, and to supporters of the arts in Columbus.
Ruth Boyd (Costume Designer) served as Costume Designer for The Phoenix Theatre for Children's first production and has been designing for PTC ever since.
Heather Burley (The Nurse, et al.) is the Education Director at the Phoenix. She graduated from OSU with a B.A. in Theatre and an M. Ed in Drama Education. Favorite shows for the Phoenix include: Go, Dog. Go!, Aesop's Fables, The BFG, and most recently, Alice in Wonderland and Hansel & Gretel.
Darin Keesing (Scenic/Lighting Designer) is delighted to serve as Lighting Designer for The Phoenix 09/10 season after designing the lighting for The Miracle Worker and Many Moons last season. Darin has over 60 lighting and scenic design credits in Chicago, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire, and will serve as Lighting Designer for CATCO's upcoming production of The Seafarer.
Michael Quinichett (The King, et al.) is thrilled to be playing as many characters as possible in his Phoenix Theatre for Children debut! He just finished playing the Voice of Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors (LTOB). He thanks Steven for this opportunity, and hopes you enjoy the show and laugh AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE!
Shyla Starnes (Princess Elizabeth) is very excited to be performing in her first show with the Phoenix. A graduate of Capital University with a degree in Vocal Performance, Shyla enjoys singing with the Capital University Choral Union and is a soloist at Christian Science Churches throughout Ohio. She lives in Clintonville with her two cats Pumpkin and Gus.
Christopher Storer (Prince Ronald, et al.) has performed in various productions with the Phoenix: The Secret Garden (voice of Colin/Lt. Wright), You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Schroeder), The Wind in The Willows (Rat), Seussical (Wickersham), and The Reluctant Dragon (Boy). Most recently, he played Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors with LTOB.
Allison Walker (Stage Manager) a 2006 OSU alum, was an '07-'08 CATCO fellow and has since stage managed their Capote holiday show and 2009 Gala. Other credits include OSU's Opera Program, Davis Center, Columbus Children's Theatre, Gallery Players, Available Light Theatre, and the Club Theatre Company. Her gratitude, as always, to her parents.
